ABOUT WEST MILWAUKEE….The Village of West Milwaukee is a small, close knit suburban community located in the middle of Milwaukee County. The City of Milwaukee, the City of West Allis and the Zablocki Veteran’s Administration Medical Center border West Milwaukee.

The Village is a blend of residential areas, retail, commercial and industry. The family friendly West Milwaukee Park is located in the center of the community.

West Milwaukee is in close proximity to many cultural and athletic ventures. The Miller Park Baseball Complex, home of the Milwaukee Brewers, is within walking distance. Downtown Milwaukee, the Bradley Center, the lakefront and Summerfest Grounds are just minutes away to the east via I-94. Traveling west are Wisconsin State Fair, the Pettit Ice Center and the Milwaukee County Zoo.

Text Box: IMPORTANT: New Parking Regulations On February 16, 2009, the Village Board of Trustees adopted several new parking provisions to address parking congestion on certain streets in the Village. The Village has created a “Commuter Congested Residential Parking Area” for the following streets located between West National and West Greenfield Avenues which includes South 50th Street, South 52nd Street, South 53rd Street, South 54th Street and South 56th Street. These streets will have a two (2) hour parking time limit from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Monday through Friday. Residents may obtain a special parking permit that will allow their vehicle to be parked on these streets in excess of the posted time limits. The Village Board also modified the “Miller Park Event Area” to an annual permit period. Residents may obtain a special parking permit that will allow their vehicle to be parked on these streets during Miller Park events. The following streets in the Miller Park Event Area are located between West National and West Greenfield Avenues: West Beloit Road South 45th Street South 48th Street West Scott Street South 46th Street South 49th Street Westchester Street South 47th Street Both permits will expire annually on December 31st. Up to two (2) permits will be available for each property address without charge. Additional permits will cost $10.00 each.
