Commissioner Positions Available

Participation by residents in government strengthens democracy and governance at the local level, resulting in a more informed and inclusive community built on trust that can more effectively meet the needs of all stakeholders. Traditional citizen participation in government, improves governmental transparency, performance, and economic growth.

The West Milwaukee Community Development Authority (CDA) and Plan Commission are currently accepting applications for open Commissioner positions!

The CDA consists of seven (7) members, including two (2) appointed members of the Village Board, and four (5) citizen appointees. The CDA meets the fourth Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m. in the West Milwaukee Community Centre’.  The WMCDA concentrates on the elimination of urban blight, is authorized to review and implement redevelopment plans and urban renewal projects within the corporate limits of the Village of West Milwaukee, as directed by the elected officials of the Village Board.

The Plan Commission consists of seven (7) members, including the Village President who serves as Chairperson, two (2) appointed members of the Village Board, and four (4) citizen appointees.  The Plan Commission meets the second Tuesday of the Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m. in the West Milwaukee Community Centre’.  The Plan Commission reviews planning documents, sign permits, conditional use permits, and occupancy applications.
