2018 Board of Review
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Village of West Milwaukee Board of Review will meet on the 5th day of June, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Conference Room located on the second floor of Village Hall, at 4755 West Beloit Road, West Milwaukee, WI for the purpose of calling the Board of Review into session during the forty-five day period beginning on the 4th Monday of April, pursuant to Sec. 70.47(1) of the Wis. Statutes.
NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that pursuant to Sec. 70.45 of the Wis. Statutes, the Assessment Roll for the year 2018 will be open for public examination starting the 17th day of May, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, in the Clerk’s office, Village of West Milwaukee, 4755 West Beloit Road, West Milwaukee, WI.
ADDITIONALLY, the Village Assessor, Associated Appraisal, will hold hours for OPEN BOOK, Monday, May 21, 2018, between the hours of 10:00 am. and 12:00 p.m. Instructional material will be provided at the open book to persons who wish to object to valuations under Sec. 70.47, Wis. 2017 Board of Review
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the BOARD OF REVIEW for the Village of West Milwaukee shall hold its meeting on Tuesday, June 6 at 6:00pm in the Conference Room on the second floor of the West Milwaukee Village Hall, 4755 W Beloit Road.
NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that Pursuant to Sec 70.45 of Wis. Statutes the assessment roll for the 2017 assessment year will be open for examination from the time of the mailing of the Notices of Assessment, May 2, 2017 through Board of Review. OPEN BOOK sessions with the Village Assessor will be held in the Conference Room on the second floor of the West Milwaukee Village Hall, 4755 W Beloit Road and is scheduled for Wednesday, May 17, 2017 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. by appointment. Instructional material about the assessment and information on how to file an objection and the Board of Review procedures will be available at the time of open book under Wisconsin law.

When does the BOR meet?
The BOR is required by law to meet during the 30-day period beginning with the 2nd Monday in May. If the assessment roll is not completed, the BOR will adjourn to some future date. At least 15 days before the first meeting of the BOR, the BOR’s clerk must publish a class 1 notice; post a notice in at least 3 public places and place a notice on the door of the town, village or city hall announcing the time and place of the first meeting. These notices must also contain the requirements for objecting to an assessment (under sec. 70.47 (7) (aa) and (ac) to (af), Wis. Stats.).
If you received a Notice of Changed Assessment, the time, date and place of the BOR meeting will be printed on it. However, to be certain, contact your municipal clerk to find out when the BOR will be held or the date to which it is adjourned.
