Property Tax Web Portal
West Milwaukee online tax information is found on the Milwaukee County web portal. You can use the property tax portal to:
- Make online payments
- See real-time payment history
- Obtain receipts and e-copies of the tax bill

Search tips for web portal
- Make sure to enter the tax year.
- If you have your bill with you, use the parcel number.
- If you do not have your bill with you, search by property address. Property address is your house number and street name.
- If you are experiencing difficulty when searching, try simplifying your search.
Receiving a Tax Statement
By law, property tax bills need to be mailed by the third Monday in December. We typically mail bills out by the second week of December. The bills are mailed to the owner of record per the Milwaukee County Registrar of Deeds, unless an official mailing address change has been made by Associated Appraisal by mid-November. If you do not receive a mailed tax bill, the tax bill can be obtained online. If you have questions, please call the Village at 414-645-1530.
Due Dates
- Pay in full by January 31.
- Pay in three interest-free installments by January 31, April 30, and July 31.
Preparing the Payment
- Enclose a payment coupon with you mailed or dropped off payment.
- Make checks payable to the Village of West Milwaukee
- Add parcel number to memo line
- Escrow checks from your mortgage company should be signed by all property owners listed on the check.
- Escrow check overpayments are refunded to the taxpayer.
How to Pay
Pay by Mail
- Pay by mail using a payment coupon and return envelope that came in your tax bill. The receipt date for timely mailed payments will be the date on the U.S. Postal Service postmark.
Pay Online
- Payment online at the property tax portal includes processing fees of $1.50 for an e-check, $3.95 for Visa personal debit card, or 2.55% of the transaction for all other payment cards. These fees are charged by the payment processor, Value Payment Systems.
Pay by Secure Payment Depository
- Drop off check and payment coupon using the return envelope that came in your tax bill in Secure Payment Depository located on the first floor across from the Police Guest Service Window.
Pay In Person
- Bring tax bill and payment to Treasurer’s Office during business hours. Business hours are Monday through Friday, 8-4:30, excluding city holidays.
What if my bank or lender pays the city directly?
- Payments made by your lender or bank are posted to our property tax portal as of the date they are received. The portal is updated in real-time.
Receipts
We only mail tax payment receipts if you owe a balance. You can get a receipt:
- Online from the property tax portal
- Contacting our office at (414)645-1530
- Immediately if you pay in person
