The Village of West Milwaukee is hiring a part-time Property Maintenance/Fire Inspector position.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Completed applications with all required materials must be received at the West Milwaukee Clerk’s Department, 4755 West Beloit Road, West Milwaukee, WI 53214 no later than Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 4:30 P. M.
JOB SUMMARY: Performs fire inspections for the Village in line with adopted State of Wisconsin (DSPS) fire codes and Village fire codes. Keeps record of dates buildings were inspected and if there were any violations found during the inspection. Is responsible, along with the Police Chief, to submit the necessary information to Department of Safety and Profession Services (DSPS) so the Village can be in substantial compliance and receive its 2% dues from the state.
Performs a variety of technical duties in support of the Village’s local property maintenance code including monitoring and enforcing a variety of applicable ordinances, codes and regulations related to zoning, land use, nuisance housing, health and safety, garbage issues, blight, graffiti and other matters of public concern. Serves as a resource and provides information on Village regulations to property owners, residents, businesses, the general public and other Village departments. Also follow up, issuing and monitoring all temporary sign permits issued.
