A Stockbox is a box of healthy foods that the Hunger Task Force delivers to low-income seniors free of charge. Each box contains 16 nutritious items including rice, cereal, juice, beef stew, pasta, and vegetables. Each month, nearly 9,000 boxes are delivered to seniors in Southeastern Wisconsin.
Stockbox can be obtained in three ways:
- Seniors can drive through a local Senior Dining Site and pick up their box. Hunger Task Force staff and volunteers place the box in their trunk. They are present one time per month at all Milwaukee County Senior Dining Sites and a list of these locations is on a map on their website at: http://bit.ly/FoodNowMKE
- Seniors can also obtain a box where they live, if they reside in subsidized housing. Hunger Task Force can deliver Stockbox to a community room, and residents can obtain the box once per month through an on-site volunteer coordinator.
- Food pantries.
