The Milwaukee Fire Department (MFD) will be hosting a series of locally sponsored events for Fire Prevention Week from Monday, October 7th to Saturday, October 12th. For more information please see this press release for 2019 Fire Prevention Week activities!
The Village of West Milwaukee will be holding a Comprehensive Plan Public Open House on Tuesday, October 8th from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the West Milwaukee Community Centre (1345 S. 47th St.). All are welcome to attend and share their ideas as the Village updates its Comprehensive Plan.

Beginning on October 2nd, flu shots will be available through the West Allis Health Department’s community clinics. The clinics will be located at the West Allis Health Department, the West Allis Senior Center, Nathan Hale High School Mass Clinic, and the West Milwaukee Community Centre’.
The West Milwaukee Community Centre’ will have its clinic on Tuesday, October 8th from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. (noon). To check dates, times, and locations of clinics and other clinic options please call the flu hotline at (414) 302-8670 or see the flyer below.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is in the design phase of a project on IH 94, involving minor repairs to 22 structures along I-94 from 70th Street to 16th Street in Milwaukee County. The project is a preventative maintenance project, and most of the work will be completed during night work operations.

On Thursday, August 29, 2019, the Village of West Milwaukee attend the Grand Opening Event of Fairfield Inn & Suites. The event was extremely successful and featured food and a tour of the new hotel premises!

The Village of West Milwaukee’s 2019 National Night Out took place this past Friday, August 16, 2019, and the event was a great success! This year’s featured events included music from Fire Man Jim productions as heard on the Bob and Brian morning show, a fireworks show from the Bartolottas, a rock climbing wall from American Fireworks, Milwaukee Survive Alive house, and much, much more. The West Allis Health Department is pleased to announce its next scheduled Loving Touch Infant Massage Class to be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 and Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at the Health Department (7120 W. National Ave.) from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.
Participants will learn the many benefits of infant massage while practicing this gentle art in a very supportive, relaxed atmosphere. The class is facilitated by a certified infant massage instructor.
Class fees to be collected at the first class are $10 for West Allis-West Milwaukee residents and $20 for non-residents. Fees include both days of instruction as well as all hand-out material and surprise giveaways.
Bring a mat or blanket and dress comfortably as class is held sitting on the floor. Infants must be no more than 6 months of age.
Class size is limited so please register early. Register online or call the West Allis Health Department at (414) 302-8600 to assure a spot for you and your little bundle.
The Village of West Milwaukee is currently in the process of a Comprehensive Plan Update with Vandewalle & Associates and amending the boundaries of their tax increment district (TID) 2. The Comprehensive Plan will be West Milwaukee’s guide to the community’s physical, social and economic development, and it will provide the Village a rational basis for local land use decisions.
All updates and information regarding the development will be posted on the website’s new Planning tab under Development.
